The deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 solutions will provide significant new value for cable operators and consumers of broadband services including not only much higher speeds, but also quality of experience (active queue management), higher capacity on existing networks (up to 50% bandwidth saving) and energy efficiency (protocols enhancements).

The TC4400 is currently in lab trial tests at several Tier 1 and 2 cable operators worldwide, making Technicolor one of the first companies worldwide to deliver DOCSIS 3.1 capability in product form.ĭOCSIS 3.1, the latest DOCSIS specification delivering gigabit speeds to the home, was released by CableLabs®, the US non-profit consortium that creates specifications for its cable operator members, in October 2013.

This guide describes how to do this on Technicolor and SpeedTouch routers such as the Technicolor 582 and SpeedTouch 585. Altering the MTU size can help resolve these problems. What’s more, its upstream split design allows for flexible cable plant migration from low, mid to high split frequencies. Sometimes devices on a network may struggle to reliably receive and transmit data resulting in slow speeds or interrupted access to some sites and Internet services. Featuring 32 bonded downstreams and 8 upstreams, and two OFDM channels for downstream and upstream, this next-gen data solution is one of the first cable modems worldwide to deliver download speeds of over 2 Gbps. The MediaAccess TC4400 cable modem is pioneering Technicolor’s new wave of DOCSIS 3.1 Connected Home devices, crafted to improve quality of services and experiences in the home environment even further. This interoperability event was an important step for the industry as it allows leading modem, chip and CMTS vendors to test implemented DOCSIS 3.1 features in a vendor-independent environment in the presence of DOCSIS 3.1 experts. Who knows. From 22-26 June, Technicolor was in Excentis’ labs (Ghent, Belgium) with its first D3.1 modem, the MediaAccess TC4400, to test and ensure complete interoperability with other equipment. But the S2 may be better from a dust perspective. AC Infinity MULTIFAN S2 or the AC Infinity MULTIFAN S3 just take the grill and feet off one side. I did order one of these from Amazon which I think will be a better solution.

It never properly registered when the modem dropped, and all the status lights would either stay solid blue or turn solid green on rare occasions.Īs for the heat issue, I sat an a 140mm PC fan (size overkill) on top and it has been running nice and cool since. Wir fhren Warteliste fort und hoffen auf weitere Lieferung 2021. Turns out I have been having this issue to varying degrees for the last two years and because my old modem was a Hitron pile of garbage. Once they installed a new temp drop cable for me (and nobody else in the building LOL) my internet has been stable ever since. It turns out that it was the 162 year old aerial drop cable. After four tech visits, Rogers actually sent a tech who works directly for Rogers and not one of those third party contractors who are as useful as a urine sample in a colander. Well it turns out my service issue wasn't the modem.
I couldn't find anything else online, other than the TC4400 ran really hot in general. Is this a known thing? Prior to this I had the DCM476 on TS and had zero issues. As soon as I turn the fan off, the modem resets itself within a few hours.Įdit: if it helps I'm on a 250mbps plan as well. I think it's something like if the ambient room temp is 24+ it will overheat and reset itself 1-3 times per day on average.
After replacing my modem once, thinking it was defective, the same issue happened.
This modem is amazing when it works, however unless the outside temperature is under 20 celsius (I don't have AC in my computer room) it will overheat and reset itself multiple times per day.

Full disclosure, I'm actually with Start but their subreddit is really dead and I figure a lot of people use this modem on TS, so lmk if you have the same issue.
